Pharmacy Technician Services

Metro Professional Services has been working on the Pharmacy Technician Services contract at Moody AFB since September 2018.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The position will require the candidates to provide a wide range of pharmacy technical procedures to include pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions and entering orders into databases.  They will also provide information consultation duties including new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions; perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies and producing error workload reports and documentation; perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.

EDUCATION:

A minimal of a HS Diploma is required for this position

Each candidate must have completed an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.

Certification/Licensure. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Basic Life Support Training. All contract service providers shall possess and maintain current course completion documentation for basic life support (BLS) through an American Heart Association and/or Red Cross approved training program. BLS shall be renewed every two years.

EXPERIENCE:

Mandatory Experience:

A minimum of one year within the past three years working as pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician student.

Possess working knowledge of computers, specifically the internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Windows Operating System.

Health Requirements:

Must have records showing proof of immunization against Hepatitis A and B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Influenza. The offeror shall also provide proof of negative TB skin test taken within the past 12 months. A 2 step TST is required.

There are other health and immunization requirements, which will all be addressed in the PWS.
